The Epipremnum – often called Pothos – is probably the easiest climbing plant to care for. It stoically survives neglect, low light, and dry air. No wonder it can be found in almost every home. Epipremnums come in fascinating varieties — from classic green to rare variegated forms.

Light
Epipremnums are true survivors when it comes to light — they can cope with almost all conditions. For variegated varieties: the brighter the location, the more pronounced the markings remain. In the shade, colorful leaves will turn greener over time.
Watering
Less is more. Let the soil dry out well between waterings — Epipremnums store water in their stems and tolerate drought very well. Waterlogging, on the other hand, quickly leads to root rot.
💡 Tip: Epipremnums can be wonderfully cultivated in water — just put cuttings in a glass, and you're done. Ideal as a decoration on the windowsill.
Propagation
Hardly any plant is easier to propagate: Cut a shoot directly below a leaf node and place it in water. After 1–2 weeks, the first roots will appear — then plant in soil or continue to cultivate in water.
Common Problems & Solutions
Leaves losing variegation
Too little light — move plant to a brighter location.
Yellow leaves
Too much water or too little light. Most common mistake: watering too often.
Drooping, limp leaves
Lack of water — water thoroughly. Usually recovers within a few hours.
