The Syngonium – also called Arrowhead Plant – is one of my favorite recommendations for anyone who doesn't yet have a green thumb: it's adaptable, grows quickly, and comes in an incredible variety of shapes and colors. From classic green to mint tones to pink, variegated – the Syngonium offers something for every taste.

Light
The Syngonium is one of the most adaptable plants. It thrives in bright indirect light, but can also do with less. Important: Variegated (colorful) varieties need more light to maintain their pattern — with too little light, the leaves become greener.
Watering
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil are dry. The Syngonium tolerates being slightly forgotten — but not constant waterlogging. Water significantly less in winter.
💡 Tip: Syngoniums can be wonderfully cultivated in water (hydroponics) — simply place cuttings in a glass of water and watch the roots grow.
Pruning & Shaping
Syngoniums like to trail and climb. If you prefer a more compact plant, prune regularly — directly above a leaf node. The cuttings can be replanted directly or rooted in water.
Common Problems & Solutions
Yellow leaves
Too much water or direct sunlight. Check location and reduce watering frequency.
Leaves lose pattern / turn uniformly green
Too little light — move plant to a brighter location.
Brown tips
Dry air or minerals in tap water. Use aged water and increase humidity.
Plant stretches upwards (etiolated)
Seeking more light — improve location.
